New Meadowlands Stadium - info for Jets/Giants games?

->> I couldn't find anything more recent than a post back in January about the New Meadowlands Stadium...

I'll be at a Jets game later in November and was wondering about parking, media will call, etc., so would appreciate it if those who have been to games this year would comment. (My interest is Jets specific, though I'm sure others will be interested in info for Giants games).

BTW, I probably won't receive media parking, and from what I could find online, it looks like on-site parking is entirely by permit or prepaid through Ticketmaster (for $50)... any other options? I'm considering trying out the newish train service, and realize there will probably be some delay waiting for trains post-game. I'll be flying in and out of Newark and probably staying at a hotel by the airport.

It would also be great if someone created an entry for the new stadium in The Guide.

Thanks!

->> Not sure about off-site parking, but media parking is Lot G if you do get a pass and the media will call window is at the Pepsi Entrance, clearly marked by the massive Pepsi advertisement outside...

Transmit room is straight through and to the left, and is very well set up. Wifi is very fast, and they will serve dinner to the media as well, no cost...

Hope this helps...

Ed

No permit, be ready for a bad day. You have to go off site, and take a bus back. Mass transit works well, but if you are transmitting it will probably stop before you are done. Where are you getting your credential from? The Jets are usually good about providing a parking pass.

->> Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm shooting for an NFL licensee (i.e. not media) and typically don't get parking passes to most games I attend. I'm not transmitting afterwards, therefore the train might work out OK for my needs.

->> Highly recommend considering hoteling at Newark airport, and taking NJ Transit from the airport train station to Secaucus Junction and then the short stadium train ride, just be sure to keep an eye on the schedules.

->> I've been shooting the Giants this season and take the train. In my experience the train is the better bet than the off-site parking, because they announce when you arrive at the Meadowlands train station what time the last train will depart. The only answer I could get about when the last shuttle bus leaves for satellite parking is "about an hour after the game" - I've been on the last bus, but I've also left too early and waited in line to get on a bus - time I wish I had spent editing and transmitting.

The train usually gives you some good buffer baring overtime. The 1pm game last Sunday had a 5:48pm last train, which was plenty of time to get a good number of images toned and transmitted before hitting the pavement for the station. The biggest pain is the station is 3/4 of the stadium away from the media entrance/will call booth because the player gate is located along that other 1/4 and they shut it down, so bring your rolling case to save your back!
