They use a third party plugin to display the slideshow but not thumbnails. A big thing for me was my visitors being able to view thumbnails and large images. I then turned to another theme at themify.me. There was an issue that came up and I emailed them. They wrote a personalized chunk of code so that it would take care of the problem.
