->> Corey, thanks for sharing, that is soooo cool. But I am sure there are some conspiracy nuts right now figuring out how they did it in a warehouse in Hobokin with aluminum foil and old 8mm footage.
So where do yo get one of those weather balloons and will a pocket wizard fire a D100 17 miles up? |

| ->> While it certainly got pretty high, "space" or "outer space" starts at 50-70mi above the Earth's surface (depending on definition used). |

->> Cool indeed!! I love that the little kids were involved.
I did something similar in July with a couple of GoPro video cameras that went 100,000 feet into space for a story for my newspaper
Video is here ---> http://www.vimeo.com/channels/ericseals#13376570
Actually the aerospace students at the University of Michigan did and my GoPro's were along for the ride in addition to other video cameras I used on the ground to tell the story.
Still amazed that two tiny cameras survived not only the trip up to 100,000 feet but the 60 below zero temp that high up and the fast trip back down.
Their video of earth was so crystal clear compared to mine. I had fogging issues up that high.
I'm sure it's an experience those little kids will always remember
