Strange CF Card problem
Jonathan Nimerfroh, Photographer
Philadelphia | PA | USA | Posted: 9:34 PM on 09.22.10
->> i have e a SanDisk Extreme III 8 gb card and i can not delete old photos off it. I do not need the photos anymore.

When i format the card with the camera they are still there.

I also tried dragging the files into the trash using a card reader on my iMac.

Photos are still there...

Any suggestions?

->> Silly question but are the files locked? I thought a format would get rid of them even if they are but who knows. Also, try using the erase/format option on the disk utility program on your mac.

->> I'd download CARD WIPER, a freebie from the nice folks who made PhotoRescue and run the card through there a couple of times. It will wipe the card and test it. That way you could start fresh and determine if there is a problem with the card.

->> I just did a live chat via SanDisk website. Told them the problem and i just have to ship them the damaged card and they are shipping out a new card. They also pay return shipping.

Problem solved. Old card is going in the trash.

Thanks everyone for your posts.

->> San Disk and other companies guarantee their cards. If you send it back to them you can get a new card free. Some exceptions apply.
