| ->> Very glad she got busted. We don't need this kind of "photographer" giving us a bad name. |

->> Wow. It was funny reading all the comments. I hope she faces years of legal problems because of this. We've taken enough hits in the past couple years in this industry to have to deal with the fallout from something like this as well.
However, I do like the Groupon idea. Maybe I can use a similar business model (with a reasonable number of bookings) to stick it to all the GWC's in my area who are shooting for very cheap because they have disposable income and are "having fun" on the sidelines where I used to earn my living, especially since they've seemed to branch into portraits and weddings as well! When used properly, it seems to me like it would kill two birds with one stone - generate business and a bigger referral base and undercut the under cutters! Ha Ha |

->> Saw it on another board as it unfolded, absolutely insane! The biography part stuck out to me because there was another SS member who stole mine word for word, had it up passing it off as his own even with the clients he never worked for! He's still a member who will probably read this, how ya doing!?
Judy - thought of that as well and with the article it kind of slaps you in the mug to come back to reality, ha. Say you have a $250/game fee - You offer $100 off on Groupon - they take their cut of 50% and you're left with $75/game. Ya know maybe if you limit it to 10 games, in a down part of the year, and possibly can make it work in the long run who knows...but definitely not the most appealing. It'd definitely be all based off repeat bookings.
Really glad this person got busted, and hope the photographers who own the images take action. |

->> Kudos for the photographers that blew the whistle.
Mike - If you are not going to call the person out - why complain at all. Call that person out, and be a part of the solution restoring confidence in your industry.
If a brick store posted a copy, the existing business would be all over it. Somehow, online copies and cheaters seem to get away with it more times than they get caught. |

| ->> Mike - that was not a complaint by any stretch of the imagination, re-reading it I don't even get a complaining tone from it honestly, was literally laughing at the stupidity of some people as I wrote it. It was simply sharing a similar experience to the story at hand that was reported a long time ago and got a response from SS that seemed they didn't really care all that much it was being done. To me that was the end of it as I told the person to remove it, I see no purpose of throwing his name out there now so far after the fact. Now when it happened, different story as I was ticked off, if it happened last week I'd put it out there. |

->> Slightly off topic......
#1 If 10 portrait sessions is a 'full' 40 hour week....... you should take a look at your time management.
#2 If you are a business owner and are working 40 hour weeks, please send me and Clark Brooks the secret to how you are doing it. Most owners that I speak to easily work 60+ hours and those are the ones that farm out portions of the workload to outside vendors.
Sorry for going OT but that blog posting while mostly on point, did IMHO, go to the other end of the spectrum. |

| ->> I shoot over a thousand portrait sessions a year, easily and I know of at least three other fellow photographers that do as well. An hour for a portrait session? time management issues are the start of most peoples problems. I can start to see why so many photographers go out of business. |
