Stadium seats/recliners
Debra L Rothenberg, Photographer

->> HI all,
does anyone know where I can buy a no-metal stadium seat/recliner for shooting basketball? All I seem to be able to find are those that have team logos on them or don't lay flat.
Need to find one by next Wednesday.
Thanks

->> The BackJack chairs are priced right and are comfortable. Don't know that you can get one by Wed since they are mostly sold mail order. Although in NYC you might have a chance of finding one. See Amazon for some examples. It does have a metal frame, but inside of the cover

I got one a few years back that you blow into to make it more comfortable, but didn't see it in the current selection.

I love mine. Gives more support than the belt-support camping chair.

->> The Crazy Creek canoe chairs are the most portable that have decent back support but the Versaflex as Tim says offers the best cushion for the sitting region and support for the back while still folding up decently. The BackJack chairs are comfy but don't fold easily and have a slight recline to them that some find annoying, at least I do.

Call Jody at Roberts or Jeff at Adorama and you can probably have a Versaflex the next day.

->> If you go with the Crazy Creek style chair I would suggest getting the high-back style. With the high-back you can throw a cushion down for all day shooting and still have proper back support.

->> deborah, just saw your post. this is without a doubt the BEST basketball chair I've used in the past 25 years. the cushioning is great and it rolls up. the best factor for me is that you can roll out of the way of errant players coming out of bounds since it doesn't have a real frame. I hate the framed chairs because you usually have no option but to get clobbered....check it out....www.crazycreek.com/product/1/74/

How would the padding be for us "larger" type individuals?

On the other hand I would highly recommenced the Crazy Creek chair. Mine is at least 15 years old and still performing like new.

->> Nobody else uses the Therm-a-rest Trekker chair? WAY more padding than the Crazy Creek and when you deflated it rolls up really compact. Plus you can take out the pad if you're stuck somewhere and want to take a nap.
