I spent the start of my career in the outdoor/action sports world. As I've moved from editorial into more advertising work, I've been passionate about bringing the authenticity and storytelling of the editorial world to corporate and commercial clients, for photography and video. Lighting is a huge part of this. I'll be using real-world shoots as examples of my approach, from climbing and adventure travel shoots to commercial print campaigns to shooting a television pilot.
I'll also be talking about Stillmotion, using high-speed still cameras to create motion pieces that lie somewhere between photography and video. It might be something you'll pitch to your next client, but it's definitely a great way to learn about video for a still photographer. Spice it up with strobe lighting and a couple break-dancers on stage and it will get you thinking outside the box!
