->> Ok I have ran into a snag. I was in a bind and purchased a Flip Mino HD hand held video recorder at Best buy over the weekend. I have the HD 8 gig chrome model.
I recorded 5 interviews at 1280 x 720 HD. They are between 2-7 minutes long. I am trying to dump these into a timeline on Final Cut Pro HD (The older version). Each time I do this I get this message.
File Error: 1 File(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.
These files are MP4 files.
Any ideas??? |

->> You can put it into iMovie and then export as .mov files.
Or depending on what you need to do, you can do it all in iMovie.
I usually do basics in iMovie and then export to Final Cut Express if I have to do any b-roll or voiceover that is too challenging or complicated in iMovie. |

->> Run it through MPEG Streamclip and turn it into Apple Intermediate Codec or Apple Pro Res 422 LT.
Or, import it into the Flip software and export it as a QT... or something else that might work. |

| ->> We usually pull ours through iMovie first also. Btw, how is the video quality on the Flip? My cheap home camera has trashed, and I'm looking for a cheap replacement. |

->> Jesse,
MPEG streamclip is the way to go. Convert it to ProRes 422 and it will work smoothly. |
