A) Pearstone
NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12V, 1200mAh)
v.
B) Impact
NP-E3 Rechargeable NiMH Battery (12.0v, 1800mAh) - Replacement for Canon NP-E3 Battery

->> More mAh means more capacity. The OEM Canon model had 1650 mAh, so in theory a 1800mAh would last longer, a 1200, less.
That said, NP-E3 batteries can be pretty finicky... and the reviews on the Impact don't look too hot. I would really recommend getting the original Canon ones that will fit and seal properly on your 1D. Other 3rd party ones do not always work correctly, though for a while I had a 3rd party one that worked decently, but gave it to a friend.
Yes, the Canon ones cost $108... but worth the headaches... at least to me, your mileage may vary. But both of those sound like bad deals, perhaps someone else here has one they can suggest.

->> I've also had a problem with a third party NP-E3 battery, I don't recall which brand it was. I sent them back and bought Canon.
I have heard no complaints from someone I know who has been using Lenmar replacement batteries for the last six months. |

->> When I was with Canon I'd always unscrew the Canon locking mounts and attach them to the new higher capacity battery. That way you get the best of both worlds: A longer charge and solid weather seal.

->> I've had a couple of Delkin NP-E3's for a few years now and haven't had any problems with them.

I'll second Corey's suggestion of replacing the locking mounts on the 3rd party batteries with Canon ones. I was able to call up Canon and order some of them for my batteries. |

| ->> Hey guys thanks for the ideas and info. I already changed the locking mounts...I guess all it was was unscrewing the two tiny screws and taking off the back end , right? |
