| ->> PMR, don't get 'em. In fact, I'll GIVE you one. Right now I only use them to balance my 5d's with longer lenses. I've gone thru 3 for the 5d's and one for the 7d. Worked fine the 1st month then, when I least xpected it, one sort of blocked the rear dial from working. Seriously, I'll send you one. |

->> I have the Vivatar grip for my 5DMII and I think it is very nice. I've never had a cannon brand to compare to but this Vivatar is very solid , locks down good and haven't had any issues with it coming loose. Now issues with controls either and the wheel on the grip is smooth. I had a ebay special for my 40D and although I still use it and haven't had any major problems the ebay version did "lock" up sometimes and I would have to take out the batteries to get controls to respond and the on/off switch has a flimsiness to it. I use the vivatar grip on my 5dII during a 4 day music festival shooting 10 hour days with it hanging from my black rapid and it was flawless the whole time. Well worth it to me. $100 compared to the Canon $240.

->> PMR ole buddy, I've got a Vivitar grip for my 5D MKII and it rocks. Never had a problem with it. In fact, I like the vertical button better than the regular one. Don't ask me why.
You're free to take it for a spin. |

| ->> I have both the Zeikos and the Canon grips. Can't tell the difference between them. Both work fine, Zeikos was about 1/3 the price. |

| ->> To be fair, Adorama helped to replace them with new ones. I just decided on my own, after getting 4 that I was just gonna use them for the extra batt power and balance with long/hey lenses and ignore the connection issues, which meant not being able to use the vert shutter ALL the time. |
