Although this is much more horrific.

->> Yes, a horrific, terrible and shocking photo ... but maybe the image and the accompanying story will drive home the importance of solving the power struggle in Afghanistan ... no one should have to suffer so brutally for such an infraction ... and we certainly don't need a return of the weekly Saturday executions at the local soccer fields any time soon ... the Taliban doesn't ever deserve to exist ....

I hope her story wins the support of women's rights and human rights groups to help solve the issue ... but only time will tell ...

->> The photographer did their job in that this is a very disturbing image. That's what makes it so good. It evokes emotion. My heart aches that she had to go through this but I also second that because of this picture she agreed to sit for, she is getting reconstructive surgery to fix her face. Hopefully she will gets some therapy because that had to be a horrible experience she endured.

->> Amazing what 1 photograph can do!

There will be folks who claim this image should/should not be on the cover of a magazine that is on news stands for all the world to see. It will spark debate and that will be productive in the end.

Its not up to me to determine if it makes the cover or not, but I am glad that this image was chosen to show the horrible actions that are being done around the world. If we don't see these images then no one can really understand.

One picture really is worth a thousand words.
