EX-1/HD kit travel - international carry-on compliant setup

->> Everyone --

I'm working on a couple of documentary projects over the next months that are taking me around both the states and Europe. Most of the time, I carry-on the bare minimum to keep us operational and check the rest, but for at least one of my Europe trips, I'm traveling with a rather skinny kit and want to keep it all on me. (it's a personal project and trying to save on baggage fees as much as possible).

Has anyone packed a basic EX-1 kit in a ThinkTank Airport International bag: Camera, 4 or 5 cards, 2 or 3 batteries, hard drive, mic, wireless kit (2x lectro 400 tx/rx), litepanels mini x2 w/batteries.

Figure on packing sticks, stands, boom, extra cables and small location ac kit in my checked bag.

I've definitely carried all this + more in my original Airport Security, but I'd rather not break out that beast for for Germany and England if at all possible - trying to cut down on size and weight. (as of this moment, flying everything on United, though that's subject to change) Not sure the actual size difference between the two bags, and I'm not seeing many video kits in the photos on TT's website.

Is anyone using a setup similar to this at all? I'd rather not throw down for yet another bag if there's no way I can make it work, but if it works well, I'm all about it.

I'm open to other bags & backpacks as well, though I've had only mixed luck in the past with all the other major brands.

thanks!
