Discovered simple image rescue

This weekend, I deleted about 10 pictures off a card that I did not mean to. Before purchasing image rescue software, I opened the memory card's folder with "My Computer" and changed the "view", customize this folder, and allowed the folder to see hidden files.
I did not format the card or shoot over deleted images. Apparently my camera (50D) only changes the file attribute to "hidden" when I delete them. So I was able to get them back easily.

There is also a freeware / shareware called "Recuva" for the PC that was an absolute life saver. http://www.piriform.com/recuva.
It recovered what Lexar Image Rescue 3, 4 or Sandisk Rescue Pro couldn't. |
