->> A while ago I remember seeing somewhere here talking about how to make a shutter release that will go from a guitar foot pedal to a camera. Any suggestions? I have the foot pedal.

->> (Canon, Nikon, Sony??)
I've made an extended remote for my PW this way
Find the scheme for your remote. Probably it is a make-contact and it would be quit simple to fabricate.
Depends a little on the foot switch. If it is a switch that says: on/off it would be easy.
Here's a scheme for a Canon remote:

And with an N3-connector

->> Upon reading that again, I didn't realize that you were making one yourself. Sorry Brett. That being said- Michael might be able to help you with parts and advice for the project if you get stuck. Cheers.

->> Yes, it is for Nikon. I will have a pocket wizard on camera and want to use the foot pedal for subjects to trigger their own photo during a photo booth at weddings. Have been having the subjects hold the PW transmitter but then I worry about them walking off with it and tend to lurk about which kinda defeats the reason for me having the booth in the meantime. The foot pedal has a quarter inch mono coming out of it. I already do have a pre-trigger cable for my Nikons- D3,D2X or D200.

->> Brett -
If you have a stomp switch for a guitar amp, I'd offer that it won't do what you do what you want - unless you
want the camera to shoot until it
A> Fills the buffer, B> runs out of battery, or C> fills the card.
The switch you need will be momentary contact, rather than on-off. If you go with the on/off for some reason and set the camera to single frame shooting, people will have to remember to stomp-on, stomp-off, stomp on to shoot pictures. After a few adult drinks, it will either be humorous or a bust |

->> I picked up an electric keyboard sustain pedal to use ... it too has the 1/4 inch mono ... I just use a 1/4 inch to mini mono adapter ... when I am shooting in close proximity to my remote camera ... I hardwire the foot pedal to the pre-trigger ... when shooting from another vantage point, I plug in the PW ... sometimes for hands-free shooting at a distance from the remote, I put the transmitter PW in my shirt pocket with the foot pedal plugged into it and trip the remote camera with the pedal ... there are many options ....

->> I use a Gralab foot pedal which is made for darkroom work. It's a foot pedal with a cord that plugs directly into a pocket wizard with no modifications necessary.
