Panoramic prints

->> I've come across several threads about making panoramas but didn't see anything about where to get them printed. (Feel free to bust me if I missed some thread that dealt with this.)
I've seen a couple sites that offer prints at a fixed ratio but am interested in a company offering size flexibility.
So if anyone has any suggestions for this type of print, it would be greatly appreciated. |

->> John - I've had many pano prints made, on canvas as well as papers, using the digital print labs I use here in San Diego. They charge by the square foot (image plus wrap or border if necessary) depending on media you've chosen. Same for mounting board and any lamination that may be ordered. A recent 60" x 16" pano printed on water color paper and mounted on GatorBoard cost something like $130.00.
So, based on my experience, I'd just check with your local digital printers in your area. |

->> John,
I believe White House Custom Color offers some bigger prints that are beyond the 3x2 standard 35mm ratio. Their prints are amazing! You could also get like a 36x24 inch print and stack two or three pano's on that one canvas and just cut them yourself or ask them if they will. You could also prolly get a place like Michaels to cut your print.
good luck! |

| ->> This question opens the discussion of so many other aspects of fine art printing; I assume you want the best quality possible and are using 16 bit TIFs in the Adobe RGB color space to print. If so, myphotopipe.com is the only place to go. They utilize Chromira printers, the only lightjet printers to accept true 12-bit images, and print on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. Get the pearl surface. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Download the ICC profile first, though, then color correct your image before you send the file. They will do any custom size you want although custom sizes always cost more, but I also assume you know that. |

| ->> I use http://www.westcoastimaging.com for pretty much everything. They can/will print panos or anything else for that matter at any size you can think of. They will also send you a free packet with all their paper samples. Fast turnaround and I've never gotten anything but ridiculously high quality prints from them. Hope it helps. |
