MLS Code Replacements
Jason Watson, Photographer

->> Hello all,

By popular demand, I've now added Major League Soccer to my code replacement site:

http://www.jasonowatson.com/code/mls

It works the same as the other sports I've added. In the next few days/weeks, I will apply the same expanded functionality and add NFL, NCAAF, NHL and NBA to have ready before the start of their respective seasons.

Standard disclaimer: This tool has undergone some minimal testing. Player rosters are coming from mlssoccer.com and are as current as MLS updates their website. Errors may appear. ***You should always check your files for accuracy before using***

As always, I welcome your feedback, bug reports, questions, etc.

Enjoy!

Jason

->> Jason,
I tried using the MLB code a few days ago and it was not working, kept asking me to select at least two teams, is that working again?

->> Jason - Thanks for all your work on this. It is incredibly useful. I find the expanded code replacement file to be very helpful (adding coaches, managers and other useful, sport-specific codes). BTW, there are a few typos in your expanded file (e.g.," twelveth" should be "twelfth", a couple instances where "inning" is spelled "innning", "trible" should be "triple").

Also on your index page, your link to Mike Stone's site malfunctions: choosing a sport to generate codes produces a "fatal error" which sounds very ominous. Maybe it's just a bad link - Mike's site should be "
http://codereplacement.stonepix.com/coderep.php"

Mike's site has not worked for MLB for some time. Not sure what's happened. Because of this, Jason's site has been a real time saver.

Louis, I'm sure you know you can still use the tool with a single team by just inputting a "dummy" team code for the second team and not using its prefix when doing your code replacement?

Again, thanks for putting this together and maintaining it, Jason. I know it's taken quite a bit of work.

->> Louis - the site should be working now. There were somethings that went wrong with my system earlier last week when I added MLS.

Tim - sorry I haven't had time to do anything with teams outside of MLS. Perhaps in the future.

Dennis - thanks for the feedback and corrections. I seem to be prone to spelling errors when doing late night programming. These should now be fixed.

Thanks all for the feedback.

Jason

->> Thanks Jason.

I just wanted to point out the great timesaver that Jason and Mike Stone provide with the code relacement scripts.

When you get a little extra cash, please donate a few bucks to these guys to show our appreciation, they both have Donate buttons on their sites making it easy to give when you can.
I gave $20.00 last year to Mike Stone through his site, mainly because I was only using his site, this year I seem to be using Jason's site more this year because of the increased functionality, but this year I will give to both as when one site is down I go to the other site. Keep up the great work.
