Best audio slideshow software?

->> As the title states what is the best audio slideshow software? I am making an audio slideshow for a non profit client to put on their website. We use Soundslides at work, I like it and was going to buy it, but since I am buying the software for my business use I figured I would see if anything is better.
I am looking for something that is easy to use and gives the most options, from design to output.
Thanks

| ->> I use Soundslides, and I think it is the best one out there - and very reasonably priced. |

| ->> I should have said I am on a PeeCee. I wonder if Adobe Premier would be a good program to use? I was also looking at Proshow Gold and another one called Photostory. Soundslides just does not look like it has the output and design options the others have. It is easy to use though. |

->> Soundslides!
Final Cut if you fell out of the money tree. |

| ->> Soundslides is easily the best bang for your buck. I've also had great results with iMovie. Final Cut is a bit of overkill for basic audio slideshows. |

->> If it is just a simple web slide show and multiple transitions are not needed ... I like the SlideshowPro plugin for Lightroom ... you can even incorporate video into the slideshow

->> I have soundslides. I've used it several times. That being said, I think it's interface is clunky. Now, maybe things have changed, but I find it difficult/frustrating to make fine adjustments on my version. The storyboard is small and hard to manipulate.
I would imagine final cut ... or a similar program ... would be worlds better. Not only would you have more control over frame/video length and transitions, but you could paste together audio on the fly, rather than having to create a separate (and complete) audio track with another program.
Anyone, please feel free to set me straight if I'm wrong about something. |

->> I have and still use ProShow Gold, SoundSlides, and Adobe Premier.
The thing I like about sound slides is the swf file. Gives the best resolution and smaller file size so very fast for viewing.
Downside to SoundSlides is it is a Flash File and this could be a problem for iPhones and iPads. Not so much for the Droid.
Ease of use I prefer SoundSlides.
If you need an output other than Flash then I would look at ProShow Gold if on a PC.
Adobe Premier is great, but because it can do so much, just like Final Cut the learning curve is steep.
If you are on a Mac then FotoMagico is a great solution. |

->> For the most control Final Cut Pro.
Inexpensive, something you already probably have ---if you're a Mac user--- iPhoto.
A good "click through" presentation program, also something you already probably have, Photo Mechanic.
Photo to Movie is also a cool program, though a "one trick pony" because all it does is slide shows. If you are familiar with FCP, the interface is sort of similar.

->> We use ProShow Gold at a PC based non-profit I do work for and the results are very good. We burn the final show to blu-ray and it looks stunning when projected.
Being Mac based, I use FCP but was playing around with fotoMagico today and found it to be easy to use combining stills, video and audio. It is also available for PC. |

| ->> You might also look at Adobe Premiere Elements. The folks at the Center for Digital Storytelling use it for their workshops. It seems pretty robust for the price point and perfect for audio slideshows. |

| ->> After doing a number of audio/slide presentations in my video editor Vegas I did one in Soundslides. Vegas spoiled me. I didn't miss SS's clunky interface one bit. If your show us longer than two minutes the pacing is very tough in Soundslides and you still need an audio editor. With a video editing suite it is complete. Also given the need for mobile content and the Apple products don't support Flash outputting a movie file gives you more options. So yeah, unless the client asks for Soundslides put together in even a basic video editor. |

->> You can also have Soundslides convert your audio slide show to an mp4 video file. Captions are not visible, but its a option and its free for now.

| ->> For what it's worth, when we use Soundslides for a project the number of hits we get is abysmal. Soundslides is easy to use, but my experience is nobody really watches them so what's the point? When we do something in Final Cut Express, or iMovie even, we get decent traffic so that's what we do. |

| ->> Paul, after many years of experimenting there is not better option then using Pro Show Gold, and now Producer. Unmatched flexibility and features. The only downside of this product is it is ot compatible. Pro Show better watch out for this one deficiency, becuase me and other pros may not want to pout up with it much longer |
