This is comparable to a Canon 7D (24mm chip size) with better condenser mic's but costs more than the 7D and uses sony lenses. I like where Sony is going with this but why oh why didn't they add balanced and discreet XLR inputs? Frischling, Photographer | | | Posted: 7:31 PM on 07.14.10 ->> Garrett, I think Sony left out 24p/30p (although some sites say it has 24p a Sony rep told me it does not) and the XLR sockets so they can make a pro version of this. A HandyCam is not aimed at the pro market, so they need to leave something for the pro crowd. I could be wrong, but that is how I see it. ...then again, I need to learn how to edit video more effectively rather lust after something new to expand my shooting horizons ... although that said ... A couple of troubling specs. No progressive scan, and minimum illumination of 11 lux(!). Really hoping the lux rating is a typo (it's the same on Sony's site). 11 lux these days is pretty awful.
