Oh and it shoots 14mp still at 7fps.
I am not that great and video ... but damn I want one! |

->> @jonshuler did an informative post on this too.

The 5D II was radical, this just seems like Sony's answer--in a video form factor--some two years later. This is comparable to a Canon 7D (24mm chip size) with better condenser mic's but costs more than the 7D and uses sony lenses.
I like where Sony is going with this but why oh why didn't they add balanced and discreet XLR inputs? I hope Panasonic and JVC follow suit with aforementioned audio options and put the pressure on Canon to step up their audio game in the HD DSLR's. |

->> Garrett,
I think Sony left out 24p/30p (although some sites say it has 24p a Sony rep told me it does not) and the XLR sockets so they can make a pro version of this. A HandyCam is not aimed at the pro market, so they need to leave something for the pro crowd.
I could be wrong, but that is how I see it.
...then again, I need to learn how to edit video more effectively rather lust after something new to expand my shooting horizons ... although that said ... I wish I had the Nex-VG10 in my bag on Friday for my project all next week on the other side of the pond. |

->> Fish,
Good point and observation about the "HandyCam" designation. A pro model sure would be fun. Especially if we can get Nikon and Canon lens mounts! Rock the shoot on Friday. |
