Best Websites for Basics of Photography?

->> OK, stupid sounding title for a member of this site, but I thought I'd throw out the question for suggestions on good websites that can really help beginners with new DSLR's.
I'm often asked for suggestions/tips, etc on how to best use a new camera for those making the switch from point and shoots and know that after a few minutes of "pointers" there's a haze that quickly comes over the person's eyes. There's a flood of sites out there, but was hoping members here might have some insight into good ones.
I'd appreciate any links I can suggest for people really getting into the basics of a DSLR camera...obviously would be good if they were 'system' neutral, but will take any Canon, Nikon or other specific ones as well.
Thanks in advance. |

| ->> I and several members visit Photography-on-the.net/forum quite a bit.. While it is mainly Canon Specific, there are many Nikon shooters on there as well. More information on there than you can imagine, but you have to learn to search to get the most out of it. |

->> I asked a similar question on here to get some websites to help my yearbook photographers. Here is one of the best for beginning photographers:

Check out the Sim Cam on upper right for some great info on basic camera operation.

->> Mike, I've always learned a lot here: http://www.shootsmarter.com/index.php and from attending a couple of their seminars , but it's not really for tyros.
Bob, that's a pretty cool site. The aperture/DOF demo is fantastically useful. This looks like a great place to send neophyte photogs. |

->> Shameless self-promo, I have started a workshop company which will have a lot of content online aswell. It's still in its infancy, but it's coming along. You can find it at http://www.newwindworkshops.com
If anyone has any suggestions or hints, or even topics to be covered, please feel free to get in touch!
Cheers,
