->> Unless I can find an assignment soon, I am heading to the local Washougal Motocross Nationals as a spectator and work on my stock portfolio. Anyone know if they have lens restrictions like they do in Supercross? Thanks!

| ->> I don't think so. They didn't at supercross I attended two years ago. But you never know it could have changed now. |

| ->> I'm shooting Washougal. I'm not aware of any lens restriction. I know, as I'm sure you do aswell that you can't shoot supercross with a monopod attached. This may, or may not be the case for Washougal. I know it was for Supercross at Qwest. |

| ->> After talking to the president of the Dirt Diggers North who put on the Hangtown National at Prairie City OHV Park, regarding your question He said that there were no restrictions on bringing photography gear to the race unless you were issued a photo credential and then you were required to have a film permit issued by the California Film Commision as well as a liability policy for one million dollars. |

->> Hey Steven, I'm a MX photog. I've been shooting chosen Nationals this year for RacerX. There are no restrictions what so ever for shooting MX. It is so totally different than SX, where they treat you like a child. They totally leave you alone when you shoot MX. You'll likely see Frank Hoppen walking around with his 400mm wrapped in saran wrap. I gotta tell you though, anything more than a 70-200 and you're limiting yourself. At these races you can stand right against the very edge of the track and there is no part of the track that you can't go to. So, no need to carry a big lens all day and wear yourself out as well as forcing yourself to stand further away from the action. Just bring your 70-200 and maybe something like a 28-70 and you can get any shot you want.
There will be a media tent where you can leave your bag and laptop. It's just so much better than shooting SX. |

->> Cool, thanks everyone.
Russ, thanks for the advice. I was wondering if I should bring my 400mm, but I guess I will stick with the 70-200 and the 24-70mm.
Cheers!
