->> ho all,
I bought this today and the sales person insisted that the cable I currently have for my Lumedyne is the same cable Well, it obviously is not and I am having a hard time finding the exact cable needed for the SB800 and 900 (and hope it uses the same cables)
Does anyone know for sure which cable it uses? Also-those who use this battery pack-are you happy with it?

->> Debbie you need the CKE cable from Quantum. Adorama and B&H both list it in stock. Adorama has it for $10 less at 42.95
I blew the tube out on an sb800 using a Turbo. The sb900 has a thermal protection sensor so it may be safer on that. I had enough heat build up that I could smell the plastic melting on the 800 that I toasted.
Oh and before the peanut gallery pipes up about shutter counts. I wasn't shooting 10,000 frames. I knew I was going to toast the unit, I was using the stroboscopic settings for a particular shot I was going after........ :) |

->> Deb,
I have the Turbo SC. It recycles fast, is much smaller and lighter than the normal Turbo units, and has a clip so you can hang it off or in a pocket. I really like mine, and I have used larger units as well as the battery pack units.
The big issue with the SC is the cost and the cables. But I've had mine for years and it's paid for itself in that time. |

->> Debbie, I agree with Max, I've had it now for a while and though it is expensive it is well worth it. Recycle time is great I use it for high school football on my D3 and at 9 frames a second it keeps up as long as I don't just mash the trigger and let it go all night.
Portability is awesome it clips to anything and my cable for the sb-900 is long enough to let me swing my camera on a R-Strap all over the place and doesn't get caught on anything.
Overall very happy and I am sure once you get in to using it more often than not you will be too.
Enjoy,
Dave |

->> thanks everyone. I have 4 CKE cables around so it's working.
Max and David-glad it is worth it. I was considering the Turbo Compact and decided on the SC-I am trying to get everything as small as possible and the size of this is great. I was using a Lumedyne Tiny Cycler years ago but it seems the Canon cords work better with it than the Nikon cords (they pop out) |

->> Fantastic units work flawlessly, just need to not shoot more than 5 full power frames in a row or you can burn out your flash tube.
I have two units they are both the Quantum Turbo 2x2.
You can use either one of these cables for the Nikon SB800 and SB900 CKE - Long coiled power cable for connecting Quantum Turbo series batteries to high voltage input on flash.
CKE2 - Long coiled power cable for connecting Quantum Turbo series batteries to high voltage input on flash. Includes locking feature for use with Turbo 3 |

| ->> You're shooting Nikon, so this won't be a problem, but the Quantum Turbo 2 x 2 fried two of my Canon 580EX's. You would think after the first one, I would learn, but I had to do it twice to get the message. |
