Local and offsite storage

->> I have about 2TB of content that is stored on my local PC, synced daily to an external eSATA array, and backed up to a drobo every month for offsite storage. So basically I have three copies of my photos - two local and one offsite.

My current plan is to purchase a higher capacity NAS - specifically the HP StorageWorks X300 for local storage and backup, and a single eSATA (JBOD) array to back up the X300 every week or month for offsite storage. I'll abandon having all photos on my local PC so that means I'll have two instead of three copies of my data.

I've looked at methods to sync my offsite storage over the Internet using programs like Logmein Backup but the program was not reliable and the data could only be recovered using their program. I think it's safer to just keep an unencrypted copy of the data. most of it is already compressed as JPEG and NEF anyway.

So I'm looking for feedback from anyone who is working with content in the 2-10 TB range to see how they are backing up their data locally and offsite.

->> 2TB is $512/year on Google Docs. Their TOS is not great but I'm not worried. They have thumbnails and organizable folders where I'm keeping all my RAW's and Jpeg's in addition to an onsite RAID. Can't upload bigger than a 1GB file each though.
