replacement front cap for a Canon 600mm?

->> I remember a earlier post about significantly less expensive replacements for Canon/Nikon long lens front caps (the leather kind) but I can't find it under a search. Does anyone know of the generic front cap replacements? I'm not referring to the hoods, but the caps...thank you.

->> For around $55, the Don Zeck gets good reviews. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/676288-REG/Don_Zeck_C10_C10_Lens_Cap_...

For around $26, lens coat makes a lens "hoodie" -the 3x goes over the hood while the 2x I believe would go over the lens w/o hood.

Or you can measure the diameter of the front and go to your local kitchen supply store and find a tupperware lid with fits.

->> I have the Don Zeck covers for my 300mm, 400mm and 500mm and these caps are excellent. Unlike the neoprene covers, they protect your front glass from impact. Yes, they are rather expensive but well worth the cost. Just my two cents.
