->> It seems to like eating several gigs of ram and then crashing, on a 250 file catalog.
Nice.
MPB 15" Late 2009, 4GB ram, 64bit, Snow Leopard. |

->> @Jim
Personally i really think it is worth upgrading.
Especially since noise reduction in vastly improved.
I do not see any need for third party solutions/external noise reduction any more.
With LR 2 i had to do noise reduction in PS.
There are also some other, minor, new features that will speed up my workflow. |

| ->> It would be nice to see a listing of whats actually upgraded. Frankly I dont ever use noise reduction anyway. Thats not a big reason for me. But if other parts got better well thats another story. |

| ->> This upgrade depends on processor and ram requirements for me (on a pc). LR2 ran horribly until I went to a quad with a 10mb cache early last year. Ram never needed an upgrade (running with 8GB). |

->> Fixed permissions (go to Disk Utility, pick your drive, repair tab, repair permissions)... Then in the same tab you can use "verify disk" - this will check your hard drive for any problems; if it finds any, you have to reboot off of your OSX cd - put the cd in the drive and hold down "c" while it boots. Pick your language then go to the "utilities" menu and then "disk utility"... Same window, but now "verify disk" is available - click it and it'll run for a while.
You might have to reinstall some applications if they don't run properly - sometimes they'll be depending on a file which was partially damaged, but on the part that worked - but during the repair it'll be lost.
As usual, back up everything you really need before you do it. |
