| ->> I currently shoot with a D3 and D700. I wondered how others adjusted their settings before heading out on assignment. What changes did you make the moment the body came out of the box, and what adjustments do you most commonly make when you are out in the field? And are there any adjustments you stopped making for any reason? |

| ->> I was shooting with a D700/D300 combo for a couple of years, now I am only using a D700. Gonna grab a D300s in a few weeks. Once I set my colorspace(D2x mode 1 emulation), and get all my custom functions set up I don't usually have to make any adjustments in the field other than things like white balance, iso and exposure. I know people shoot differently but for me- Af-on button for focus, Dynamic set in the 9 point mode (it seems to track and acquire focus faster for me in this setting)- these seem to be the most tweaked settings for people. I usually leave the focus tracking lock-on at the default value of three. There has been a couple of football/soccer games where I will adjust it to either 2-4 depending on the play action. For the most part I am a set-em-and-forget-em kind of shooter with my camera(s). |
