T&F in Eugene next week

->> Looking to see if anyone has knowledge into the announcement today that "Vests [required for the infield] are checked out on an hourly basis. Members of the Oregon staff will man the check-in of these vests. Please visit them in the mixed zone." I know both Kristen (NCAA) and Greg (UofO) will have little time to answer email on a small question. I'm wondering what this 'hourly basis' is going to be?

->> You are issued a vest for access to the infield an hour at a time. It's usually on a first-come-first-served basis. There are a limited number of vests issued for any given hour. The "Oregon staff" will manage the sign-up process. The hourly-basis means just what it says. If you overstay your "welcome" on the infield you could be out of there. The whole purpose is to control the number of photographers on the infield at a given time. Imagine the free-for-all if it were not managed.

->> Thanks Thomas - I appreciate it. My question came up as I've been hired by a few universities to shoot all their athletes. An hour at a time is defintely going to hinder that.

I understand the free-for-all problem, and this is my initial event with vests (which is why I posed the question). Regionals last year didn't use them. Hopefully the weather will be good!

->> Will be interesting to see how many photographers show up, but they have a fairly generous number of vests to hand out. Sounds like you might have a large number of people to shoot though, so putting together a list of who you need and when you need to be on the field will help you time your vest requests.

To others who are coming, start praying to the rain gods but bring your foul weather gear. We broke the precipitation record for June in the first 3 days.
