| ->> I got a Canon Pro9000 Mark II a few months back and have been very pleased with it. It is a big sucker (can print 13x19) and eats some real estate, but I've quite happy with the print quality. I use Red River Arctic Polar Luster paper (75lb) and the prints looks identical to the print I get from EZPrints (ordering through Smugmug). |

->> Another vote for the Pro9000 (I have the Mk 1).
It's large and heavy, but really gets the job done! I use Red River 68lb. Ultra Pro Satin with great results. |

->> I've never printed "in-house" (except for proofs, etc) and am amazed. You can actually get prints comparable to EZPrints with the Canon 9000 Mark II?
Wow. This is the $350 model, right? I googled it and that's what I found. That seems awfully cheap.
As far as the two papers you guys use, what is the approximate cost? Do you find it better/cheaper than outsourcing that part?
Thanks in advance. |

->> Just remember companies don't make money on printers, they make it on the consumables. NPR did a story recently about how expensive the ink is: http://tinyurl.com/ydpe39b
If you don't need large format printing and ultimate photo quality isn't the end all be all of this printer for you, then I can recommend the HP Officejet 8500 printers. I got it mainly because it has one of the cheapest cost per volume of ink for ink jets. All my client orders go through a lab so the photo quality isn't my top priority. Although, I can say that I printed a photo of my son off of it and have it in a frame in my room and it looks great. |

| ->> I threw mine away as the jets got clogged as little as I used it. I now use Costco -- $1.49 for 8x10's and $2.99 for 11x14 or 12x18's. You can send the images in online. |
