Looking for a compact DVD printer

->> Greetings,
Does anyone have advice on a DVD printer?
I'm basically looking for an economical single disc printer that is easy to use and has relatively intuitive graphically oriented software. I'm aware that many inkjet printers have DVD print adapters. I have one and I don't like it. I think it's finicky and a hassle to use. Thus I'm hoping for a simpler solution. Additionally, I'm not interested in DVD labels either.
My research suggests I should consider the Dymo DiscPainter with some reservations. It's easy to use, has pretty good software, but the print quality is just ok. Any other suggestions? |

| ->> Thanks Steve, but I don't believe the Medley 440 works in a Mac environment, which is what I have. |

->> Ross,
I have been using a Dymo for about the last six months and have been pretty happy with it.
The quality of the printing seems to change depending upon the brand of CD/DVD you use and the type of coating on the disc. Some brands seem to do a better job of absorbing the ink in a smooth (visually pleasing) way.
I find the CD's or DVD's with a matte white finish seem to provide the best printing surface. I admittedly also have played around a bit with the color profile to increase the saturation and color accuracy a bit.
Over all, I'm much happier using the Dymo than the clunky Epson options which were about the only way to go previously. Also the Dymo is small so it takes up less shelf space than another full sized printer. |

->> Ross,
I have the Dymo as well - and I was very happy with it for a while. The downside is if you don't use it regularly, the ink cartridge nozzles become clogged, and no amount of cleaning cycles will get it going again. You usually have to replace the entire ink cartridge - which is 40 bucks I think.
If you get one, just make sure you use it once a week or so. I burn discs so infrequently now, that I've switched to an all-in-one office printer with a disc burning tray. |
