Well I'm happy with D300s video.

->> This is the first real movie I made with my new camera (thanks to Diego Robles for the sale):

The only other time I used the video was a quick afternoon skateboarding session.
I shot the Big Sur Fashion Show, which is a collection of local designers creating attire, handmade, with green, recycled and edible materials.
I found it a tad hard to get back to manual focus, esp wide-open in dark situations, so any out-of-focus stuff is a user-error. Other than that, I am very pleased with the quality and using good lenses is a huge different and stuff is sharp. I dig it for sure.
Technical notes:
Lenses: 50 f/1.8 and 85 f/1.4 wide-open or near wide open.
ISO: Push upwards of 2000 on a few scenes.
Viewfinder: Hoodman Loupe 3.0
Edited in iMovie (can't afford Final Cut Express yet.)
Mic: Sennheiser MKE 400 (but forgot to turn it on...)
Music: courtesy of Moby gratis (his free music website thing),

I'll be shooting a handful more projects with it soon, but so far, from a still photog perspective, I'm happy with it.

->> Yeah. Flashes going off every few seconds due to models and every photog on the Peninsula there...
Thought it added a cool affect occasionally... |

->> I shot a music video with a d300s in the worst lit venue in town about a month ago.
I thought the video quality that camera out of the camera far exceeded the still quality. Which kept me from buying one.
So I'll wait until Nikon releases a d700 with video. |
