Tethered Shooting (Nikon D700+OSX+PhotoMechanic)

->> Hey...I thought that I could shoot tethered using the following combo:

Nikon D700/D300
OSX (10.6.3)
PhotoMechanic 4.6.4

But I can't seem to figure it out...was I wrong?

->> Hmmmm....I don't like that price. $180 to transfer images to the hard drive.

If that's the missing piece I'll pass...being tethered is another excuse to trip over the cable and break my camera or laptop anyway ;)

Lightroom 3 will let you do it without additional software.

They have a free public beta:

You might prefer the price for sofortbild. It's available for free at:
http://www.sofortbildapp.com. Includes use of Live View on some cameras. Nikon users only though.

To start a rumor, perhaps his work at Apple means an iPad version is in the works?

That happened over a variety of different macs with different OS X version.

But it's free and works well beside the occasional crashes.
