The DNG tool from Adobe has a batch convert functionality with raw embed that gives you an easy way back to native RAW after you upgrade, should you choose to go in that direction. What is particularly annoying and paradoxical is Adobe obviously has the capability to provide raw support updates to their older products - and probably pretty seamlessly considering how easy it is to update DNG. At the very minimum, it is currently gratis during the beta period, and runs the same RAW engine as 5.7...
