| ->> Just wanted to publicly thank Nikon for getting my last repair right-- I sent in a 400 f/2.8 for repair last Monday and it arrived back this morning (Tuesday--8 days later). I know we always note when things take too long or are not repaired properly, but it looks like Nikon NPS repair in El Sengundo didn't have to wait for a part or anything and their was probably a day they waited for my approvial of the estimate... Good to see repairs done in a speedy manor... Maybe things are getting better.. It's been a while since I've gotten this kind of service--way to go Nikon. |

->> I just got my D700 back after a AF failure.
I was expecting to pay out quite a bit, but NPS said it was still covered.

| ->> I had a D300,D200,17-55 and a 60 micro all repaired in Melville last fall and everything was done quick and I have had nothing but good experiences with NPS (Melville) for the last 3 years. I am going to have to send in my D700 for a check up, as soon as I pick up another body. |

->> I have been an NPS member since 1987, the past 5 years or so their has been a definite lack of quality control and customer service that I had been use to in all the previous years. My biggest gripe is that nothing, nothing I brought in was serviced properly the first time. 2 years ago one repair had to be brought back 4 times before they got it right. It was very clear that there was no quality control.
However I believe there has been a turn for the better this past year. of the last 5 items that have been serviced in El Segundo, 4 have come back to me quickly and in perfect working order, a vast improvement. The 5th item a 70-200 lens has been sitting there for 2 months waiting for parts, I don't understand how it can take them 2 months to get parts from themselves. But all in all I believe they are going the right direction. |

->> +100 in the Nikon / NPS bandwagon.
One thing that I will say is that I haven't seen any difference from this year last year or the year before. 4 years ago Debbie and Mona dug through boxes to find my camera and see to it that it was on my doorstep in time for my honeymoon. Before that Jim Crowley called me to discuss a problem that I was having with a D2X and get the skinny AND got it fixed. |

So that's where all the gear is... Both of our long lenses went down at the same time and I got a very short email telling me that there weren't ANY 300's or 400's available.
Sucks during track and baseball playoff season. We'll see if Jim Crawley & Co. can perform a miracle. |

| ->> I sent a 17-55 to Melville about two weeks ago. Sent it in on a Wednesday received the lens back 8 days later even before I got the Estimate/Acknowledgement sheet in the mail. That's what I call good service. |
