(between NOLA and Venice) and there was nothing in the bay's or sound at that point. Just lots of boom being put out. This story will continue to get more tragic as the oil slowly makes it's way to shore. Many of us rushed to get down there only to wait for it to hit shore. I covered the fishermen as they are going to get hit the hardest. Oyster fishing is all but done for quite a long time. Maybe a decade? If it gets into the La. marshes, it'll be catastrophic for the seafood industry. There are many stories to be told and the people are all very willing to share. On the Venice side, the locals are milking the media for boat rides and rental rooms. They wanted 400.00 per hour to get to the spill zone. Go to Hopedale/Shell Beach.
