| ->> not sure what sort of discussions you're looking for but I just heard about a new site http://findingtheframe.com/ that allows people doing video to post stuff and try and find feedback. A cool idea, particularly for those in smaller markets who may not have fellow pj's around who are experienced in video, you can post to the site and get some ideas of how to improve. According to the bit I've heard about it they are recruiting people with experience to give the critiques rather than just random people offering their opinion. |

->> Thanks for the plug Erik. A friend of mine and I just launched "Finding the Frame," a video feedback site dedicated helping newspaper multimedia producers become better storytellers. We have lots of video and multimedia specialists willing to critique your work. Check it out. Read the story reviews; upload a story link to be critiqued or just comment on other peoples' work. We would also like to see more audio slideshows. We launched Monday so we're just getting the ball rolling.

| ->> I need to say thanks too. I've been lucky enough to win a bunch of state-wide awards in our news circulation division recently but it's just been a lot of trial and error, not ever have really had 'training,' and all using a Canon G9 (ha..ha..yes it's possible). I've e-mailed several people in the SS community for ideas, guidance and critiques and many have gone above and beyond in helping me, so I again say thanks for the continual guidance, and for the links provided in this thread. |
