->> Sometimes it seems like I just can't get caught up on editing... I'm not profitable enough to hire my own editor so I'm wondering, is there such a thing as an on-demand editing service? Is it reasonable to trust others to do justice to one's own work and would it cost an arm and a lens?
Just wondering out loud. |

->> I have no experience with this or any other service, I just know they exist - send your images to India and let 14-year-olds working 72-hour weeks edit your images.

The usual caveats apply: you are depriving good ol' Americans of their jobs, destroying the fabric of society, contributing to global warming, etc. |

I haven't tried them, but the cost seems reasonable, and they try to match your style, so they might be good. Plus, I think they're in the us. |

->> Thanks folks,
Great place to start! My initial online search only found places that wanted $5 and up per image. That can get expensive quickly... I'm going to see if I can get a sample edit done at these places and maybe give one a try.

I don't miss it, I still do that a lot! But I send it in and they upload the scans to my "lightbox". I shoot mostly medium format on my Mamiya 645AFDII and 35mm on my Canon 1v. |

| ->> i have used pwdlabs for color correction. i have not used them to edit an entire shoot. the color correction they do has been good but I have only used them 2 or 3 times. mostly when I am bogged down and I ned to get caught up. its a tough thing to let someone else tone your photographs. |

->> I "toured" one of the very big wedding type processing companies a while back. Although they offered all kinds of edit work including color correction, their place was filled with inferior monitor after inferior monitor. Lousy lighting in the entire building complimented it all.
I tried them a couple of times but their work was below my standards but acceptable to their average customer who was brain washed with their advertising and paid big time photographer endorsements.
Shoot fewer frames and edit more. You will have a better product in the long run. Just my opinion. |

->> Thanks for the responses everyone. I just wanted to post a follow up as I tried PWD. They offered a first time customer/50% discount offer. I had them tone an entire take from a wedding (around 600 images) and my discounted bill was around $70.
I was pretty happy with the service. There were some images I re-toned myself afterward but not many. They are, in my opinion, a reasonable resource when in a bind to get my own editing done on time.
