Google Chrome

->> I checked and couldn't find any reference to Googles new Chrome browser. Is anyone else using it right now and what's your feedback? It seems to be much faster than Safari and Firefox. So far I haven't had any issues so I just wanted to see if anyone else was using it?

->> I use it occasionally, and generally I've found it to be pretty good. A lot faster on a Mac than Firefox, and it plays much nicer with Flash than Safari. But I stopped using it regularly because, at the time, I couldn't get plug-ins for it on a Mac. To be sure, I only wanted a couple of plug-ins to make it, ironically, work more identically to Safari. I hope they've changed that by now, but I just haven't bothered checking lately.

->> I used Chrome up until a few weeks ago when it went all wonky on me and stopped rendering some flash based websites properly.... up until that point it was fast, very crash-resistant and incredibly efficient in terms of memory use.

Give it a try and see if it works for you. I'll be having another go when the next release is out.

->> Same here. I use it on the Mac and PC. It seems faster than other browsers and works better for me on the Mac than the PC. The address bar is also the search bar which I like. I've had a problem with the Bookmark Bar on the Mac not working on the drop down menu. For some reason it just stopped allowing me to scroll but I've read some forums where many are having that problem. I guess it will get cleared up shortly. I think the Mac version is still Beta. A nice browser.

->> I use Chrome 90 percent of the time on my PCs at home. Firefox used to have a memory leak as you built up tabs. A college friend works for Google in Philadelphia and he turned me onto it more than a year ago. I don't use it on my Mac at work, but I probably should try it.

However, Firefox works faster with my credit card processing company and works faster at logging into my PickPic account.

->> I began using it not long after it was released, starting with my netbook, and now use it almost exclusively except at my 'day job' where we require IE. Much faster and really improved overall system performance since I usually seem to have several tabs open all the time.

Since Google already knows everything there is to know about me, from a privacy standpoint I figured they might be more merciful with me for making it easier on them by using their browser...you know, when they finally decide to take control.

->> "But do you really trust Google?"

Well probably unlike anyone here, I spend approximately $1,500 per month with Google for various services for my business. This includes things like email filtering, archiving, encryption, apps, adwords, etc. So do I trust them. Yes. I get support and everything works. Google is not the end all solution for certain services, but for what I use it for, it works.

->> I checked it out last night and noticed very slow loading of flash websites, and a completely different look to my images from my website. It renders colors differently than Firefox or IE. Given that most people use either FF or IE these days, I'll stick with FF if for no other reason than to maintain consistent color appearance.

Although I wish it would support stuff like Xinha and other add-ons like Firefox, but it's super speedy.

Like Michael I trust Google as well for everything except for my portfolio. Decide if you need their services, and use them or don't use them, but you really won't find anything better.

I detail what I use the Google Apps Standard and other services in this blog post:
