New Macbook Pro and Photomechanic--HELP!

->> I just purchased a new 15" macbook pro, 2.66 i7. When I review pictures with PM and switch images there is a noticeable delay before the image comes into focus. It is similar to what I saw with lightroom before switching to PM (related to refresh rate with LR). I wonder about the graphics features of the new MB pro (pure conjecture) but really have no idea why I am seeing this or how to fix it.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

| ->> How much RAM is in the system and what is the Memory Cache size set to in Photo Mechanic? |

| ->> Try turning off Raw Rendering in preferences (should be under the Raw tab) |

| ->> Sorry, think I got it wrong . . . Under the Raw tab, make sure you have it set so that PM renders the jpeg previews contained in the Raw file. That should work. |

->> I cannot even begin to tell you why, though if you do not get the answer you're looking for here certainly head over to the CameraBits site and post on their support forum. Kirk and the team never seem to sleep over there and an answer is always quick.
I can only add that I purchased the same machine and have been pleasantly surprised at how FAST everything is in all of my application, including PM compared to my three year old MBP (mine has the hi-res anti-glare display, though, if that makes a difference)...so don't think it's the machine. |

->> Also, an earlier version of the MBP has dual video cards, it comes with the "slow/lower quality" video card "on" by default, and you have the option of switching on the higher end card, which is recommended for Photoshop and other graphics rendering apps.
I don't remember if the new MBP with i7 has this dual video card feature, but if it does, you should definitely switch on the higher end card if you haven't already.
Only drawback is the faster card reduces effective battery life somewhat, but well worth the increased functionality.
