->> Anyone doing this set-up?

I love the sound from my H-2 and would like to use it as a mic on a video DSLR.

->> I have been disappointed by the H2 as a stand alone mic, but is more happy when I use a Rode mic with the H2. Gives better directional control.

->> I love my H4n! Its mics are great and the ability to record 4 channels and include a shotgun, lav or feed from a mixer helps A LOT! I will also plug the PluralEyes plugin from Singular software for FCP. It was the best $99 that I have spent in a long time. It aligns your video track with your externally recorded audio track with extreme precision. As well, it will align multiple cameras for you so that all you have to do is go through the timeline and make the cuts that you want. It has sped up my workflow tremendously.

->> The best mic I know of for grab-and-go sound on a vDSLR is the Sennheiser MKE 400 (http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MKE-400-Shotgun-Microphone/dp/B0014YVAJG).

I don't have any experience with the Zoom recorder, but if it's anything like the Olympus LS-10, the onboard mic is good mostly for capturing general background sound, and nothing directional.

->> I have an H4 that I use with my video camera for concerts and stuff. But rather than patch it in to the audio input I just record audio remotely and sync it up in editing.
