->> Awesome! Thanks for the votes and comments everybody. I got some really great feedback.
I got a lot of comments about "This isn't journalism..." Exactly. They didn't have any rules on what or how to shoot. They were just told to go make pictures. So it has nothing to do with journalism and everything to do with photography.
As far as the focus on some of the images go... I shot dupes of all the prints, so between my dupes shooting skills and the transition into a photoshop web gallery, I'm sure they lost some sharpness.
Drum Roll....
The winner is #10. (seagulls with human on bottom of frame)
And in a close second is #13 (Low light concert looking situation)
And in third is #1 (tight portrait of a face)

Thanks again for all the votes and comments. |

->> Very cool, Matt. Although I didn't get a vote into you, it was fun to look at images for art's sake rather than on their merits as pieces of journalism. 10 was actually my favorite. Some of the images seemed to be taken based on a preconception of what "art" is supposed to be. This one resonated with me because it seemed more like a found moment, and was more about composition, color, light and feeling than the actual content of the picture.
Thanks for sharing this with us. |
