If the images are in a gallery, you can go to the gallery list and select the first option (it may say public or invite only) on the right side of the gallery name. Setting an image searchable will allow it to be found using the search tool, regardless of whether it appears in a gallery. Setting the gallery private will only keep the gallery private. If there are images that you want to keep private, they should marked NOT searchable, and if added to a gallery, the gallery should be private or invitation only.
