->> First let me say he is an outstanding photographer and filmmaker.
Now that is out of the way, I think the site sucks. For someone with that much talent, his website seems very cheap.

->> The content was amazing - rarely would watch the entire front page slide show/clip showcase, but I did in this case.
I did find the fonts too small (as one who has begun to need reading glasses). |

Seriously, maybe my standards are low, but I don't get "suckyness" or cheapness from the site. The little helo flash intro is a little chintzy for my tastes, but whatever -- the dude is quite the aerials shooter, so I think it's cool if makes that a big part of the site persona.
Anyway, maybe it comes from serving shifts on the night photo desk and learning to embrace my inner, crusty editor, but when it comes to photo sites I pretty much care about three things: content, content and content. Speed of loading is a big plus too. Laforet's site seems to have those things in spades, so fine by me.
But whatever. Everyone's a critic, right? |

->> It is kind of like having a really nice sculpture piece in a blah museum that you will never care to remember... In some ways it works, others it doesn't. There are all sorts of architects who swear by it - but none of them are Gehry or Kahn!
The work is spectacular, I think we all agree to that :) |

Sorry maybe I was a little harsh in my wording, but to be honest that is how I felt as soon as I clicked on it.
It took quite a bit of time to load, the site is just blah to me. The work is fantastic! The site is crap. |
