->> Oh sure.

Now that the iPad is here there will be a re-birth of the photojournalism industry. Thousands of photographers will be paid a real living wage or day rate to produce deeply meaningful photographs from interesting places all over the world.

The stock photography business will see a renaissance as publishers compete for the best and won't mind paying hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to run great photographs in their iPad apps.

Videographers will barely be able to answer the phone and will find it hard to find the time to schedule the glorious shoots that they'll be asked to do in order to provide first class video for the new world that IS the iPad.

Right.

What was in that drink?

->> I am on the bus with Tom Kennedy...great potential for displaying the work but who will pay for it? This not only is the question for journalistic entities but for consumer magazines, advertising and corporate work as well.

->> The iPad is definitely a wonderful form factor for presentation of images ... however ... unless and until ALL content providers cease to offer FREE content ... the earning potential of those providers isn't likely to change in the near future ... but the potential is there ... IF you can persuade tablet owners to pony up fees for the content they want to consume ....

The fact that 300,000 new iPad owners purchased 250,000 books from the iBook Store on Saturday, indicates it is possible.
