when I was in Roberts a couple days ago, I was looking for a video camera bag. In scanning the shelves for what they had, I saw they had a Domke bag, traditional style but the material wasn't the canvas but it seemed a new nylon material. Like Think Tank or Tenba I guess I would compare but Domke style. Material was stiffer than canvas, maybe ballistic nylon. I never like the canvas Domke myself because I could never get it to sit up, always seemed lopsided. I think these ballistic bags might be alittle heavier and stiffer. Don't know if that's what you're looking for or not. Domke also has an oiled material kind of like Think Tank's Retrospective series, but Domke styling. I haven't seen Domke using either of these materials before, but aren't positive how new they are. |

->> Lowepro had some bags in their Street and Field line that came very close to approximating the feel of the classic F2 bag. IIRC, I just needed to add external pouches to each end....
Domke also made an F7 bag for a while -- essentially an upsized F2 bag for the newer autofocus bodies/lenses.... |

| ->> I really want the four section lens divider that will fit the new large zoom lens. 77 mm and 82 filter lenses. |

->> That's a little harder. On the Lowepro bag, I managed to fit a Canon 70-200/2.8 with hood, an 85/1.8 with hood, both converters, a 16-35 with hood and a strobe along with two bodies. I added a pouch for batteries and cards to one end, and a Lowepro case for the 28-70/2.8 with hood to the other end....
Lowepro at the time had modular inserts in those bags -- like the Domke 4 pack, but with each piece being removable and one of the four sections consisted of two stacked shorter pouches. I think I yanked one of the full length pouches out, to make room for the 70-200. The 85 and a strobe went into the other two full length pieces of the four pack, one of the converters shared space with the 85, the other went into the bottom of the two stacked sections, with the 16-35 resting front element up in the upper part, hood attached...
Looks like they're not making those anymore -- but the big Stealth Reporter bags should come close....
Tiffen still has the Domke F-7 Double AF bag -- buy an extra two insert pouch ('cause the F-7 comes with only a dual lens pouch, instead of the four pack) and scrap the padded body pouches at the end, and you should be able to configure that bag to hold what you need....
I preferred the Lowepro system -- because by changing out the attacked pouches, I could easily reconfigure the bag, for different assignments/glass/strobe needs.... |

->> What about those new Kato PR bags?
They look pretty similar to the Domke bags and have dividers. |

->> You could always shell out the cash and get a Billingham.

Another option would be to get a four-slot divider and put it in a piece of luggage. Tumi makes great stuff that can double as a camera bag. Yes, it costs more than most other luggage, but it's very well built and can stand up to the abuse that camera bags typically get. |

->> The Domke J2 bags work quite well ... as does the F2.
70-200f2.8, hood removes in top left, 24-105f4 hood attached, face dwon, top right, 16-35f.8, mount down-hood at top in lower right, 50f1.2 in lower left, with two bodies.
I use mine with a 70-200f2.8, no hood, 28-70f2.8, 16-35f2.8 and two EOS 5D/5D Mk II bodies with grips (previously with 1D series bodies). |

->> HI Steven
That is just it Steven I want the hood attached the classic domke was a great bag fr shooting I wan the hood attached. the deep bags like the urban disquise you cannot see your lenses so pulling them out it like doing a grab bag. The kata pr might work and will look at the billingham though dollars. .For trasport I love all the think tanks. but for rapid shooting on the job is my problem. David |

->> David,
Have you looked at the ThinkTank Skin Kit with harness? I use it, it holds bodies, and takes a lot of weight and pressure off your body. |

You appear to have your wish granted.
Check out the new product from Think Tank, it appears that they put out a product very close to what you were thinking.

Looking at the Think Tank site, it looks great, I only wish it was a little bigger. |

->> I have a couple of LowePro Stealth 650AW bags. One will fit the Canon 70-200 f2.8 with hood attached standing upright as well as a 16-35, 24-70 and three 5D MkII bodies, two 580ex strobes and could hold my Macbook Pro too (if it weren't getting too heavy by then). The other has an entire Elinchrom Ranger Quadra kit in it.
