But seriously, I don't see many legit media outlets buying images from here. This is a cheap way to acquire lousy quality images for tabloids.

A user called "motortrend" paid $60 for a poor rear view of a prototype BMW station wagon. Your guess is as good as mine if it's Motor Trend the magazine.

Car magazines (including Motor Trend) have been paying hundreds, or thousands, of dollars for the latest photos of new cars and prototypes for decades )see
