Not cool that he passed away, just a good story on this photographer.

->> Alex, I think we knew what you meant.

I had the pleasure of meeting him 25 years ago and he was one of the most gracious and insightful people I have ever met.

Sad to hear but thank you for bringing his passing up so more people can know about him.

Sam

->> I thoroughly enjoy it when the Times does a feature obit of someone of importance who might otherwise go unnoticed. It always reads like a great novel. Having had to write a couple obits recently I have admiration for someone who can take someone's life like Mr. Moore's and explain to "people" (not photogs) why it mattered so much. thanks Alex for the post

->> As a student at Missouri, the group I was working with on a Mass Media project had the great fortune to interview Charles Moore. Truly amazing photographer and a standard bearer for photojournalism.

We were truly lucky on that project. We actually had the chance to interview Charles Moore, Flip Shulke and Bill Eppridge. I hated that Mass Media class. It sucked, but I loved that project. I wish I could find the video we did.

I concur with Sam, gracious and insightful. I will always be thankful for his giving our group a window in the 60s in the South.

Even though as photojournalists we try to cover the news, not be the news. It is an excellent tribute Mr. Moore for the NYT to recognize his life and his achievements.

Sad to see another great one go though...
