Stool Suggestions?

->> I'm after some suggestions for a new stool/seat for sitting on when I'm at football (soccer) games?
I currently use a Walkstool (well I did) but it broke on Saturday and now I need to find a replacement soon. It was the third one I have had, and all three have suffered from the same problem, that the metal pivot snaps.
I liked the features it had as you could set it to a low height and extend its legs to sit higher up if needed (to see over advertising boards etc...) so would ideally like something similar.
So I'm after some suggestions on what you guys are all using? I know you can buy cheap camping/fishing stools but I find these snap every easily under my portly weight so looking for something a little stronger.
Thanks for any help,
David |

->> David,
Not sure how high you want it but I use a 12" tall EZ-Foldz stool. You can get these on amazon and others. This folds up flat, weight capacity 300lbs. It is only 12" high but gets you off the ground.
In all honesty don't use it much as I tend to walk the sidelines etc depending on the action, corner kick etc.

| ->> Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the Walkstool's. I am about 280 lbs and have had great luck with mine and have had it over three years but am now assuming it will break the next time out after typing this. |

| ->> I also had the Walking Stool and the height adjustment pin broke. The advertisement for the Walking Stool used to show a 400+ lb Sumo Wrestler sitting on it and showing how strong the aircraft aluminum was. I bought a similar stool for $7 at Dick's Sporting Goods and so far so good. |

->> Don't get me wrong, the Walkstool's are great, and their customer service brilliant (Lars their CEO personally arranged for replacements for me on two previous occasions free of charge) but I'm just not going to bother sending it back this time.
Seen the EZ's and I think I might get one only 5.99 on eBay but I need something a little higher for the rest of the time. |

->> I got a cheap $20 or less option, and it gets you lower to the ground.
Go find yourself a good 5 gallon paint bucket (Lowes or Home Depot make pretty good ones, but they are all the same).
Next, Ace Hardware has a decent seat for the top for about $6:http://tinyurl.com/y8bpknr
If you want something a bit more padded. Try this one from Cabelas: http://tinyurl.com/yetsvhr |

->> David,
I have broken two walk stools as well. I have a third, but don't use it. My suggestion, a nikon 400mm lens trunk. No kidding, is high enough to see over the boards, even at Chelsea. You can also lay it down flat for games where you need to be a bit lower. One thing to make it more comfortable is get some of the gardening knee pads, one or two should do. This will make sitting easier. Trust me, sitting on a cold hard case for hours on end is not healthy. If you check out Fixation in London they often sell the cases. That is my best advice.

| ->> Cheers for the suggestion Joe but I've managed to get all my gear into a Airport Security case (400mm etc...) which makes moving everything about great so I would be reluctant to go back to using my trunk again. |

| ->> For the last few years I've been using a small Igloo cooler that I glued a one inch thick pad to the top. It's tall enough to sit on, low enough to not get in anyone's way, cheap enough and I can bring along a drink and snacks for half time. Works for me! |

| ->> Next thing we need is an adapter to put the computer in the bucket transmitting from the field. Maybe a pop out tent in case it rains. |

->> About a year or so ago I mentioned to Doug at Thinktank if it would be possible to add in some sort of sitting support to a roller or backpack
Not sure if it is economically possible/marketable but based on this thread there might be a demand.

->> Juliann - That's the model I used for about 3 years. It eventually broke, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the link because I haven't been able to find a replacement until now!
I once had a pissed off football coach throw my old one over a fence. Good times. Good times. |

| ->> I got this http://sitincomfort.com/postwipabagc.html and it's great. Has a strap included and when you grab the strap it folds right up. Only rated for 250# but it works for me. Also the back support is handy for hanging your extra body on. |
