->> Browsing through Craigslist, and found this:

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/lgl/1642279962.html

If you don't feel like reading the ad, it's a guy asking for free help from a whole team of attorneys, all with experience and degrees from top academic institutions, for help with a custody case. And you'll get a great, fuzzy feeling from doing it!

This whole free thing is just starting to get ridiculous, but it almost comforts me to know that it's bleeding into other sectors.

->> Except that pro bono work has been an accepted part of legal work for decades. The thing is, attorneys have such a lock on the legal system they can AFFORD to work for free every so often.

Now, if some day someone makes an affordable "digital lawyer," they may find themselves just like us.

please stop with the whiny "everyone gets paid why can't i?" spiel; it embarrasses the profession when compared to other jobs who provide valuable volunteer services to those who desperately need it.
