->> OK, don't throw me under the bus, hoping for some information,,,,,need a credential, how do I get one. Just kidding !!! Have Wednesday practice round (3rd time going, 1st since 2000) tickets, know cameras are allowed, have taken them before but largest lens was a 70-200, two bodies. Have scoured web site, and find no limitation on equipment I can take in. Even e-mailed with no response asking for limitations. For those of you who have loaded up for a practice rounds recently, or those of you who are credentialed please give some additional guidance. Can I take 2 or 3 bodies (wife and friend to help, have 4 tickets) a 300/2.8, 24-70 and 70-200? Is a monopod out of the question?

->> For someone without a credential are electronic devices like the portable MiFi 2200 router allowed at the Wed practice round? I've used that in conjunction with the Eye-Fi to transmit to a Website like Flickr in near real-time from events. I'd also like to bring an iPad (it should have shipped by then) to see the images online to do some minor cropping and captioning.

->> Stan - you're best sitting on the second green to get nice bunker shots or players interacting with gallery. Just buy a folding chair at the Masters store for $25 so you have a spot to shoot from and park it for a couple hours. Since there are no inside the ropes access there for even accreditated photogs, you're in the gallery with the rest of the fans. Maybe after checking out two, take a stroll down to Amen corner, the best three holes in golf...

On a side note you can see some masters photos on this recent blog post here:

Good luck and we'll see you in Augusta!

->> Donald - very nice Tiger images on your blog.

Since it's so crowded with the gallery do you recommend leaving the 400 2.8 with the monopod at home and bringing something you can handhold like a 300 2.8 or 200 2.0 or 70-200?

->> Wednesday is the par 3 tournament. You'll get some guys on the main course. Tiger might even sneak out like he usually does, but the main action will be at the par 3. You really won't need anything over a 300 unless you're shooting over the ponds.

->> Not to hijack the thread but during practice rounds of PGA events do they have any limits on what gear you can bring in? The Arnold Palmer Invitational is starting monday and I was hoping to bring out my 400 and a monopod for the practice rounds.

->> Just in case this thread is searched next year...... must fit in the box or its out (new this year, 2010 can't address that?). Think its 10", a 300 2.8 with no hood,,,just to big by a frogs hair.(70-200 ok)....but I was able to sweet talk the 300 in (would doubt it could be done again). But the mono, no way,,no ladies bags over 5", can barely type this arms hurt so much. Beautiful day, course more beautiful then I remember it.
