D3 sensor attract dust?
Chris Parent, Student/Intern, Photographer

->> I've had my D3 for a couple weeks and noticed it needs cleaning a lot more than the D2x and D200 I was using. I cleaned them routinely every two weeks, but now the D3 seems to need to be cleaned every few days. I was wondering if anyone else had found this to be the case?

->> I find I'm cleaning the d3 more often than the d2x/d200, but I chalk it up to a larger area to attract dust. I used a visible dust brush on it last week, and there was one spec I couldn't remove, I'll have to get that one with a sensor swab.

->> Yes, it sucks in dust like a Hoover. Way more than a D2x, D200, D100 in my opinion. I just always keep a lens on or body cap on.

->> Let me ask when was the last time you vacuumed out your camera bags. I just returned from an ISAP conference and a similar question was asked of the Canon rep. What he said is that the CMOS sensors are not electrical charged until the shutter button is pressed.

Something I am going to try is when I am finished shooting put the camera body in a Ziploc bag.

->> what do you use to clean the sensor?
My D3 is a major dust magnet-even with the 24-70 lens staying put.
