Actually, the probably do understand copyright because they have their own copyright notice on the bottom of their page.
I found a photo I shot for The Oregonian on the site and asked them to remove it. They did very quickly, but continue to post other images that I suspect do not belong to them. I recognize images from the NCAA basketball tourney last year, NBA photos, Olympics, etc.
I even recognized a photo I shot years ago for The Register-Guard.
I've tried to interact with them in a non-confrontational way but they won't respond.
I bring this up because if you photograph major sporting events, you might want to poke around their site and see if your copyright is being violated. |
